Company History

HT&T Truck Center traces its roots to the formation of Hilo Transportation and Terminal Company, established on the island of Hawaii in 1946 to haul sugar to the port of Hilo after the tsunami of April 1, 1946 destroyed all of the train bridges along the Hamakua coast. HT&T Truck Center opened for business in Waipahu, Oahu in 1984, and is today the State’s largest distributor of medium and heavy-duty trucks, selling Peterbilt, Volvo, GMC, and Autocar products. Parts and service are available to all the islands for all makes and sizes of equipment from our parts department in Honolulu. In addition, our paint booth is large enough to paint the biggest truck or trailer.

HT&T Hawaii’s shop in Iwilei, Oahu is a DOT licensed inspection station, and is capable of complete major overhauls of any make of truck or bus. Emergency road repairs are available on Oahu. HT&T Hawaii’s parts store carries an extensive line of medium and heavy-duty truck parts, and can obtain parts for any make of truck or bus.
